Steer clear of harsh chemicals—they can ruin some enamel finishes. If your piece needs cleaning, just wipe it gently with a soft, damp cloth. Skip anything abrasive. For jewelry with sterling silver or gold, you can use a polishing cloth every so often to keep it looking shiny.
Copper enameling is a technique where powdered glass is applied to copper and then fired in a kiln at high temperatures until the glass melts and fuses to the metal. Each firing creates a unique piece—colors can shift, patterns can emerge unexpectedly, and subtle differences appear based on factors like kiln temperature, enamel thickness, and placement. These variations aren’t flaws; they’re what make every enamel piece truly one of a kind jewelry every time. Even if you use the same shapes and colors, the process guarantees no two will ever turn out exactly alike. That’s the magic of copper enameling!
