Module #1 - Introduction to Enameling.
Curious about copper enameling? Join us for a hands-on introduction where you’ll learn the fundamentals of this vibrant art form in a welcoming, small-group setting. This 2.5-hour class covers everything you need to get started — no experience required.
We’ll begin with a brief overview of safety, so you’ll feel confident working with the kiln. You’ll learn how to properly prepare your copper, from cleaning and shaping to ensuring a flawless surface for your enamel.
Then, we’ll dive into the dry sift method — a classic technique for applying powdered enamels evenly and creatively.
Once your piece is ready, we’ll talk through firing times and temperatures, and you’ll get the chance to fire your own work in our studio kiln. Whether you choose to make a bold 3x3 inch tile or a pair of custom earrings, the finished piece is yours to take home.
All tools and materials are provided, so you only need to bring your creativity. Our classes are limited to just 4 students, making for plenty of personal attention and a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere.
